After qualifying at the Malvern Schools District Trials, five John Masefield students represented Herefordshire in the County Cross Country Championships, held at Sanders Park. In horrific weather conditions all runners fought against the elements, showing sheer resilience. Tom Smith (Y9) finished 22nd out of 67 and was second place for Malvern, after qualifying Pat Jessop (Y9) unfortunately did not finish the race due to injury. Hattie Cox (Y8) came 21st, Immy Parsons came 29th and Josie Thomas (Y8) finished 39th out of the 72 Year 8 girls.
