House Competition Results & Summer Term Highlights

This term over 80 students were presented with Arts Colours and once again had a successful week at the Herefordshire Performing Arts Festival, winning the Elgar Trophy and our Chamber Choir won Choir of the Year. The dance showcase and our summer concert were a great success with great music and delicious food prepared by our catering students. Y7 and Y8 students put on an extremely successful production of our Day Out.

This has been a successful term for sport with successes in rounders and athletics, and the summer games and both of our Y7 and Y8 teams reaching and narrowly losing county cricket finals. 93 students have been awarded sports colours; with some who have won for the second consecutive year and are now entitled to wear the Sports Colours hoodies.

In addition to sport and arts and after school clubs, there have been many enrichment activities this term including the enrichment days in the final week of the summer term  There have been trips to Paris, Croft Farm for water sports, Oaker Wood for outdoor activities, to Cheddar Gorge for geography fieldwork and the Black Country Museum for English, as well as enterprise days and team building activities for students in school.

The Art exhibition, with superb work by our Y10, Y11 and Sixth Form students was appreciated and enjoyed by many. Our students are fortunate to have excellent art teaching and the chance to study Art, Photography or Graphics in our sixth form.
