Sports Round Up…

Netball:

Congratulations again to the Y11 girls who have regained their U16 County Champions’ status as reported previously. Elsewhere in Netball there have been lots of fixtures for the girls and a huge number of students, nearly 90 to some practices on a Monday afternoon after school. Well done and thank you to all the girls that have represented JMHS this term.

Rugby:
Games are being played in the right spirit, hard but fair and the upmost respect for our opponents if we are winning or losing.
Y7’s train in good numbers and look like a very well drilled team on the pitch too. This could be a team to watch in the future!
Y11’s have started their campaign well and are looking strong. The Y10’s have put in a couple of big performances too.
Big thanks to Ledbury RFC for providing us with excellent coaches again this term and referees for some games too. Thank you for all your help.
Football:
Sadly the Y9 and Y10 football teams were knocked out in the first game of the ESFA trophy. Huge congratulations to the teams for getting to this stage in the first place.
Also we are extremely proud that JMHS Y10 students Josh Phillips and Ryan Halford have been selected onto the HSFA U15 Representative Squad for the 2018/19 season.
6th Form :
Sixth Form sport is thriving at JMHS, with a good number of fixtures in football and netball and hockey completed and more to come later this term. Great to see so many students taking time out from studying to represent JMHS6 against other schools.
Other:
The Quicksticks Primary hockey event well very successful and my thanks again to the six leaders from Y9 that did such a good job leading the event.
Swimming Gala – girls juniors and intermediates and junior boys all swam in this and showed real skill and passion for swimming. Thank you once again to all who took part.
Thanks also to Community Action Ledbury for providing us with excellent transport to some of our games.
JMHS sports men and women are really doing the school proud. They are polite and courteous to other staff and students and play the game hard and fairly. I am very proud of all the students who represent our school as they are a credit to JMHS
