On Thursday 29 June Y7 students on our Fresh Start literacy programme visited The Master’s House in Ledbury for a talk and reading by author Dave Cousins.
Dave has written many novels for children and over the last term the students have been reading and discussing his books about Charlie Merrick’s Misfits. During the visit Dave told us all about his journey into becoming an author, from his early ambitions to be Batman and an astronaut, to joining a band and wanting to be a professional football player. We were also slightly surprised to learn what to do if we are attacked by a bear!!!
Students had the opportunity to ask Dave lots of questions and they could also buy signed copies of his books. Dave was inspiring and encouraged the students to persevere with their dreams and ambitions. It was a fantastic visit.
