Covid Guidance 1 April 2022 going forward
Guidance from the DfE regarding changes to measures for managing Covid in schools is below:From 1 April 2022:• Routine Covid testing will not be available. Students should not test routinely or if they are unwell.• Students who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people where they can. They are permitted to return to school when they no longer have a high temperature and they are well enough to attend.Students who currently have a positive Covid result:• For those students with a positive Covid result, they should stay at home and try and avoid contact with other people for 3 days. If they are well enough and no longer have a temperature after 3 days they may return to school.We will continue to ensure spaces are well-ventilated and encourage good hygiene practices such as handwashing and cleaning. The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:
- a high temperature– this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough– this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste– this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
