Here at John Masefield high School, we have a dedicated team of first aid trained staff who can support students with illness, injury and medical conditions.
This can be a pre-existing injury or illness, or if there is an occurrence during the school day.
The team all have three-day first aid at work qualifications, with some staff having additional training in the administration of medication.
If you have any questions or updates with regard to first aid or a medical condition, please email our lead first aider: megan.reece@jmhs.hereford.sch.uk or call us on 01531 631012 .
If your child is absent due to illness or injury, please report this to student absence: student.absence@jmhs.hereford.sch.uk .
If your child needs to come home during the school day following an assessment by a first aider, a parent or carer will need to collect them. Students will not be able to make their own way home for safeguarding and wellbeing reasons.
If your child needs medication during the school day, we can store it in the medical room. All stored medication needs to be in its original packaging with the student’s name on it.
