Football success – we’ve made it the County finals

We are so proud of our Year 9 and Year 10 football teams for reaching the County Cup finals. Both teams played extremely well to beat Whitecross by a single goal in their respective semi finals (Year 9, 2-1 and Year 10, 1-0).
Year 9 went two goals up after a superb finish, running away from goal, by Callum from a cross from the left, and a sensational header by Ollie J as he leapt above his defender (resembling a freshwater salmon) to place the ball into the top corner after a cross from Mason. The boys showed real grit and a very high level of fitness to hold on for victory.
Year 9 Team: Huw W, Aidan S, Brad L, Archie W, Tim P, Eddi N, Tom C, Ollie J, Freddie D, Casper W, Callum P, Mason Z, Noah M, Oli P.

In the Year 10  it was a single goal from Max; a superb calm and accomplished finish from a cross from the right hand side that separated the two teams. JMHS dominated the game with Whitecross unable to manufacture any chances to really trouble our goalkeeper. JMHS controlled the game made sensible substitutions and saw the game out.
Year 10: Arthur Z, Momo Y, Joe B, Callum C, Reece P, Elliot P, Max C, Charlie P, Kris K, Jack M, Noah J, Will H, Fin S, Sam S, Tom H

Well done to both teams for playing the game so well and in the right spirit and good luck in the finals!!

The finals will be held at Edgar Street (HR4 9JU) on Tuesday 17 May (8pm) for Year 10 and Thursday 19 May (kick off 8pm) for Year 9.
