WORLD FAMOUS AUTHOR VISIT

The Ledbury Poetry Festival arranged for English students at John Masefield High School to have an intimate audience with world famous Canadian author Margaret Atwood today before she performs at the 2019 Festival.

Margaret Atwood visited the school today and gave a short reading of some of her poems and then answered pupils questions on both her poetry and The Handmaid’s Tale.

Miss Baker, one of our English teachers said  ‘To be able to host such an inspirational poet and novelist was an unbelievably exciting prospect for our school and students. The Handmaid’s Tale is an incredibly popular text at A-Level and the opportunity to hear Margaret Atwood read her poetry and discuss it with her in person was a hugely valuable experience for our students.  We are enormously grateful to Ledbury Poetry Festival for arranging this wonderful event.’

Many, many thanks again to the Poetry Festival for this incredible experience.
