Open & Transition Events
In the first part of the Autumn term we would normally have a whole school Open Evening, Sixth Form Open Evening and an Open Morning for families to visit JMHS during the day. To fulfil the government Coronavirus guidelines we have made alternative plans for these events.
Virtual Open week for Year 6 & Year 5 – Monday 5 October to Friday 9 October
For the Virtual Open week we have made available in this section a range of documents, presentations and videos for parents and students to view. We hope that you enjoy finding out more about JMHS.

Tours for families with Year 6 students
Starting the week commencing Monday 21 September and running until Friday 23 October, members of the Senior Leadership Team will be offering tours of the school site for families. These tours will only be available to families with a Year 6 son/daughter. The tours will last 30 minutes and we require all visitors to wear a face mask whilst on site. When signing in we will ask for full contact details for track and trace purposes. In order to book a tour please phone our Admissions Officer, Bethan Woolley, during school hours on 01531 631012 extension 116.
Tours for families with Year 5 students
After October half-term we will make plans to offer tours to Year 5 families, but hope you understand that initially we need to prioritise Year 6. Further details on how to book these tours will be posted at a later date.
JM6 Open Evening: A virtual event on Wednesday 14 October 2020
General information about studying at JM6 and individual A level subject presentations will be available to John Masefield Year 11 students AND external students on this web-site from Friday 9 October. From 4.30pm to 6.30pm on Wednesday 14 October there will be live chat sessions via Microsoft Teams for all A level subjects where you will be able to have any questions answered. There will also be a live chat session for you to ask general questions about life at JM6. John Masefield students will be given a list of ‘Join codes’ to enable them to join any of the sessions at any time within the two hour window.
