NMiTE (New Model in Technology and Engineering) is an initiative backed by government, educators (including the University of Warwick) and industry, to transform engineering education in Britain. Located in Hereford, NMiTE will ultimately become the first wholly new UK university in 40 years. NMiTE’s engagement programme, Ingenuity Studio, will be outside Shirehall, Hereford for a three-week launch period from Friday 26th October. Studio 1 is a high-tech studio, modelled on the learning spaces for the future university and made from a repurposed shipping container. Ingenuity Studio reflects the developing university’s unique approach to teaching and learning and it will be touring the region from November. The studio is being hosted by Hereford Sixth Form College during the week of the 19th November.
The Design Cohort, a group of 25 young people who are dedicating the next nine months to co-designing the future university, are hosting this event in order to engage young members of the local community in NMiTE’s mission.
