The curriculum at John Masefield High School is designed to enable students of all abilities to enjoy their studies and to maximise their achievement.  The programme of study in all subject areas offers challenge whilst meeting the needs of all our learners.  Students follow a full National Curriculum programme at Key Stages 3 and 4, and are able to choose both academic and more vocational subjects at Key Stages 4 and 5.  In addition to GCSE courses, students follow BTEC programmes as well as other modes of certification.

Students begin their KS4 choices in Year 9 and choose their Sixth Form courses in Year 11 with the help of a senior member of staff who provides support and guidance.

We believe that the curriculum reflects our educational values and that it equips the students for further studies or the world of work.
