Parents' Evenings - John Masefield High School

Following consultation with parents, JMHS is moving towards returning to face-to-face parents’ evenings, and in the Autumn 2024 Term Year 11 and Year 13 parents’ evenings will be held face-to-face. We are keen to expand this to more year groups but we want to make sure that the face-to-face parents’ evenings are working well before we take further steps.

John Masefield High School is using SchoolCloud to book appointments for Parents’ Evenings and also to provide online Parents’ Evenings until face-face meetings become possible again. For online meetings, both audio and video are supported, so you can both hear and see the teachers. More information on using the video feature is available here

We have been advised that parents or teachers joining a video call using an iPhone/iPad running iOS 14.2 are likely to experience stuttering audio which may stabilize itself after some time. This issue is not specific to SchoolCloud Parents Evening and affects joining any video through the Safari browser on iOS 14.2. This is caused by a bug in iOS 14.2 which is logged on Apple’s bug tracker. Apple fixed this issue with the release of iOS 14.3 and iPadOS 14.3 to the public on 15th December 2020, which included an update of Safari to version 14.0.2. Anyone still seeing this issue should make sure they have applied the updates.
