Trainee Designer and Project Manager needed

Taylor Lane (a Hereford based company providing 2000 timber frame structures per year to the UK housing market) is recruiting for

  • a trainee designer within their engineered timber department, designing roof trusses and floor joists for these buildings using bespoke 3D CAD and engineering software. Candidates should preferably have good mathematical skills and an interest in design and technology. Salary is negotiable for the right applicants, and this is an opportunity to get on board with the largest independent timber frame manufacturer in the country.
  • a trainee project manager within their contracts department. This role would be less design but more construction management, planning, liaising with the client and construction teams. They  would encourage any applicant to further their education by doing an HNC in ‘Construction and the built environment’ on a day release basis, it is not really an apprenticeship as there is no structured training programme in place, and no provider locally providing anything relevant. Proposed starting salary of 13k with annual increments etc. based on progress.

Working hours are 8.30 – 5.00 Monday – Friday, 21 days paid holidays per year + bank holidays. Anyone interested should contact
