A Midsummer Night’s Dream

On Tuesday 12th July, an enthusiastic lunchtime audience of students, staff and family members were treated to a delightful production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, performed by the Year 7 & 8 Drama Club.

Many of the performers had been involved with the whole school production earlier in the year, but this was their opportunity to have the spotlight all to themselves, and they did a wonderful job. The edited script used the original language and the talented performers gave Shakespeare’s words energy, clarity and meaning to ensure lots of laughs throughout the performance.

The students have been very committed to rehearsals, rehearsing Wednesdays and Fridays after school to ensure a high quality piece, and many also made parts of their costumes and props to ensure they had a performance to be proud of. It was, as Peter Quince says, “A most happy hour!”. Congratulations to everyone involved.
