This Friday the author Mimi Thebo will be visiting JMHS to discuss her latest novel Dreaming the Bear with our Y7 and Y8 students. Students will then have the opportunity to take part in creative writing workshops with Mimi.
She will then be in the School Library at break and lunchtimes to meet with students and sign books for students from all other year groups.
Mimi has published eight books for adults and children and she is a senior lecturer in Creative Writing. Dreaming the Bear has been long listed for many awards including the Carnegie Medal. Set in the depths of a Yellowstone winter, Dreaming the Bear is the story of a young English girl who encounters a wild bear.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to meet and be inspired by a published author. Students will have the opportunity to purchase copies of Mimi’s book for her to sign for £7.
