We recently received a lovely thank you letter from the Birmingham Children’s Hospital for our donation raised when we held our Christmas Jumper Day in December…
Each and every day we are overwhelmed by the kindness of our incredible supporters just
like you. Birmingham Children’s Hospital cares for thousands of children and their families
each year. Thanks to you, we are able to do more to meet their individual needs and make
sure that being in hospital is as comfortable and reassuring as possible.
It is only thanks to people like you that we can continue to do more for sick kids. From the
smaller home comforts, such as tea and biscuits for our parents’ rooms, through to life
changing research into childhood leukaemia your support makes a very real and positive
difference to our children and their families, at what can often be a very difficult time.
Thank you so much for your recent donation of £769.16
Recently, our hospital charity has funded some incredibly exciting projects which simply
would not have been possible without our wonderful supporters, like you. One such
example is the recent purchase of new activity toys and wall panels for our Emergency
Department and its waiting area to create a relaxed environment during times when
patients and families may have to wait long periods to be seen.
Often, the improvement of patient experience extends far beyond the walls of our hospital
thanks to your support. For our children with hand and upper limb differences this could
be a weekend of activities. The goals of the camp are for our kids to develop self-
confidence and self-esteem in an enjoyable and positive ‘can-do’ setting. For those patients
who have recently had a renal transplant, we now provide a free drinking bottle that tracks
the amount of water they drink. This aids their independence at home and has made a
world of difference to families coming to terms with ensuring that their child remains safe
and reducing the risk of in taking too much liquid.
It means so much to our children and their families to know that people are thinking of
them and sending their love and support. On behalf of everyone here, thank you.
With warmest wishes
