UK Maths Challenge Success

Our Year 9, 10 and 11 mathematicians recently took part in the UK Intermediate Maths Challenge, which is a nationwide competition run by the UK Mathematics Trust.

The students did extremely well and won the following awards:

Gold awards were won by: Dan Disney, Lizzie Austen, Tobi Raison and Will Flaherty

Silver awards were won by: Oliver Davis, Ella Lipscomb, Chad Warren, Joe Fisher, Thomas Williams, Sam Lipton, Tom Cox, Alice Unthank & Ella Barber

Bronze awards were won by Victoria Merker, Greg Ward, Charlie Davis, Rhys Morris, Josh Solomon, Phoebe Bennett Hobbs, Daniel Thompson, Jemima Stokes, Abi Hamblin, Chris Warmington, Jack Bloomer, Jessica Schofield & Rosalind Crowson.

Gold award winners Dan Disney, Lizzie Austen, Tobi Raison and Ella Lipscomb went on to compete in the Kangaroo Maths Challenge, a prestigious national competition for the best scoring UK Maths Challenge candidates in the country. The students did extremely well and achieved the following:

Dan Disney achieved a merit award in the Pink Kangaroo Challenge; this award is only given to the top 25% of students who undertook the Pink Kangaroo challenge in the country.

Lizzie Austen, Toby Raison and Ella Lipscomb all received qualification certificates.

Once more our students  did extremely well and we would like to thank them all for taking part and being fantastic ambassadors for the school. Well done to them all!
