The Y7 cricket team won the County Plate final at Ledbury CC this afternoon, beating an enthusiastic team from Whitecross. Having lost the toss and asked to bat first, runs came steadily and Zak and Archie F (21) put on an excellent first wicket stand. Zak (10) fell to a superb catch in the deep and he tried to force the run rate. Harry E came to the crease and immediately looked to dominate, and he scored a quick fire 19 runs which pushed our total to 104 from the allotted 16 overs.
Lewis C took the first Whitecross wicket following a great start made by all bowlers. JMHS carried on bowling a challenging line and length and the Whitecross batters found it hard to score. Zak B took two wickets in two balls and that was moment that I knew the team were heading for victory. JMHS winning the game by 34 runs with all bowlers contributing to the win.
