Year 8 in County Cricket final

The JMHS Year 8 cricket team have made their way to the County Cricket final with a commanding display against St Mary’s High School. Losing the toss and being asked to bat first, JMHS found the runs hard to come by.  There was moisture in the wicket and the visiting bowlers made good use of this. Lucas and Harry found it difficult to time their shots and a number of our batsmen perished mistiming  shots.  Eliot helped us along to a respectable total of 80 from 16 overs, a total that we hoped would be possible to defend.

We bowled ferociously with good line and length taking wickets regularly.  Lucas’ spell was particularly effective and he was well backed up by others.  Joe took a pressure catch that removed their potential match winner and after that we comfortably defended our total.

Team: Lucas Recordon, Joe Pugh, Harry Malcolm, Jensen Walker, Olly Warner, Jack Cambridge, Kai Haines, Fraser Renfrew Clarke, Dominic Seaborn Williams, Charlie Kingaby, Billy Ussher, Eliot Ruddick, Bertie Butcher

We are looking forward to the final on Thursday 5 July at 2pm at Pentland Gardens, Hereford.
