Aspiring Allied Health Professionals Day – 20 September

Please make your students aware of this fantastic opportunity as soon as possible: St George’s Hospital in Stafford are holding an ‘Aspiring Allied Health Professionals Day’ on Wednesday 20th September 2017. It will be an interactive day to give students aged 14+ an insight into various roles including Art and Drama Therapy, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech & Language Therapy.

Places for the event are strictly limited – please give me the name of any student who’s interested in applying by Monday 3rd July AT THE LATEST, so I can get the necessary paperwork and instructions to them in good time – they have to fill in an application form describing why they have an interest in attending this event, which has to be signed by the student, parents/guardians and by teachers/me before it’s submitted, so there’s a bit of effort involved. Parents/carers will be responsible for the student getting to and from the venue, and they’ll have to apply for authorisation to attend as it’s on a school day.

So that students can familiarise themselves with what Allied Health Professionals do, and what skills qualities and qualifications are required for the various roles in this category, please direct them to: https://www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/explore-roles
