Normandy Trip
We shall be staying at Le Château de la Baudonnière, situated in the region of La Manche. We have had many successful trips to this impressive venue now and feel confident that it offers an excellent French experience. At only 90 minutes from Cherbourg and Caen, it is also conveniently located. The Château has extensive grounds which include an orchard, a lake for fishing and canoeing, an assault course, a volleyball area and a floodlit hard court area.
The main reason for visiting the Château is the language immersion experience; staff use practical, spoken French wherever possible to explain a range of fun, yet structured activities. I feel sure that students will develop a better understanding of French culture and language and return home feeling more confident and motivated in their learning. Typical French meals are served and menus, cutlery, crockery etc are named by native French speakers who encourage our students to repeat and use the necessary vocabulary.
During previous stays, we have visited Mont St. Michel, the pretty coastal town of Saint Malo and the local market at Dinan. At the Château, we take advantage of the fantastic opportunities available; these include climbing, bread making, kayaking, archery, circus skills, and aero ball as well as the usual ball games. When we put together the itinerary for this year’s trip, we will ensure that a good variety of the most popular activities are included. The adventurous activities are lead and explained by highly qualified French instructors while our own staff are either taking part or nearby.
