Alumni Students Return to JMHS

We are always delighted to hear from former students and even more so when they come back and see us.

Natalie Kenney was a student at JMHS for seven years leaving in 2012 to study Psychology at Royal Holloway University, London.  She is currently working as a Research Assistant at University of Roehampton and asked us to help with a project she is currently working on which lasts for 11 months. As part of her research she tested twenty Y8 and Y12 students for a week in July interviewing them on a one-to-one basis.   Natalie found the week really productive and enjoyed meeting the students and of course we were glad to help.

On 14 July, Ed Evans and Paul Collins who left the Sixth Form in 2004 were asked to present prizes at our annual presentation evening.   Since leaving JMHS, Ed studied Engineering at the University of Nottingham, learnt to fly with the University Air Squadron and enjoyed a gap year with Paul in 2009 travelling around the world.  He has a passion for property and business and since 2013 founded a property leasing company called ‘Co Living’ which has grown and he is now looking to expand a second business focused on property development.   Paul is a qualified pilot and now works for a commercial airline.    Both Ed and Paul also are involved in a charity called Working Options and have forged close working links with John Masefield Sixth Form.   The charity is a non-profit organisation which aims to help young people from all abilities and backgrounds succeed in their careers after education.  We are grateful for their support yesterday and for helping to inspire students with their future ambitions.
