16 Year 7 students have been enjoying cookery club after school this term with Mr Oaten. This is a fantastic opportunity for our younger students to build their confidence and skills in the kitchen whilst having great fun.
The smaller group of students are able to cook a range of challenging sweet and savoury dishes such as jam tarts, homemade pasta and jiaozi (Chinese baked dumplings) with Mr Oatens guidance. The school provide the ingredients, all the students need to bring is a tub to take their treats home!
Our Year 7 students say; “Cooking Club is a great opportunity for you to develop some cooking skills for now and when you’re older. It is run by Mr Oaten, who is the best cooking teacher! It is on every Tuesday after school, when there are late buses making it easier to get home afterwards.
Even if you think you’re not too hot at cooking, you will be made very welcome and taught some skills. It’s really fun! We have made: bread, jam tarts, chocolate chip cookies. It’s always a surprise what we make!”
We can’t wait to see what they be cooking next!
