Rhymes, Recipes & Ridiculous Robots

All students at JMHS are being been invited to take part in an exciting creative project, timed to coincide with Ledbury Poetry Festival.  The Robotics Club are producing a special fundraising book titled “Rhymes, Recipes & Ridiculous Robots”, aimed at celebrating the creativity of our school community while raising funds for our robotics programme.

Students are invited to explore writing, food and their own imaginations by contributing in one or more of the following ways:

  • A poem (rhyme)
  • A favourite family recipe
  • A ridiculous robot design

Prizes in each category!

Taking part:  To help ensure all entries can be included in the book, the following simple templates for each category can be downloaded and used for submissions.

Recipe Template

Rhyme Template

Robot Template

Paper templates can also be provided to students during tutor time.

Important information:  Work should be clearly presented and easy to read (preferably on a single page); recipes must be original or family recipes (not copied from published books or websites).

Submission deadline:  Monday 1 June 2026

How to submit:  Bring paper submissions to ICT office (ground floor in the Computing block) or email electronic submissions to helen.bowen@jmhs.hereford.sch.uk .

This project brings together creativity, literacy, and technology, and all proceeds from the book will directly support our robotics team.

Note:  As many entries as possible will be included in the final book but we cannot promise that every single submission will make it to the final book. This is down to page limits for binding.
