JMHS’s Strong Young Minds

JMHS’s group of dedicated ‘Strong Young Minds’ students have been working extremely hard to raise awareness and support for students facing difficulties with mental health.  They have led a series of assemblies, a workshop for school staff and several other activities with enthusiasm, skill and excellent communication skills.  Many students have contributed to the group and they have been nominated and shortlisted for the Herefordshire Community Champions Award 2018.  Georgie Westaway, Zac Godfrey and Millie McCarthy will represent the group by attending the Awards Ceremony and Dinner where the winners will be announced.

As a school we support students through the pastoral / house system, through the PSHE programme and with help from external agencies (e.g. CLD Counselling, Strong Young Minds). As parents / guardians / students, please raise any concerns with mental health through these channels or by directly contacting one of the organisations listed and linked below.
