Over 30 students performed at this years opening event for the festival. Students have been working with our Poet in Residence Brenda Read-Brown over the last term to create powerful group poems with the theme of “freedom”. They performed enthusiastically and confidently in front of a large audience and alongside established and renowned poets such as Joelle Taylor and Zaffar Kunial.
They received many compliments from the audience and poets on their performances. Well done to everyone involved.
